It’s a terrific Thursday! Dr El-Deiry says I’m doing exponentially better than he and the team expected given my combination of negative factors!

Martha Ryan pulled the Salivary stent out of my throat. What a relief! It hurt every time I swallowed! And every time I had to cough to clear my Lary tube!

Lary tube: very similar to a tracheotomy tube - it is inserted into the hole (or stoma) in the neck which connects to the trachea (wind pipe). See the FAQ page for more info.

We will return next week for another examination of my wounds and talk about starting PT (Physical Therapy)!

We’re not out of the “hold your breath” phase just yet but we’re getting closer!
