Update 8 for Mike Pless: Feb 23, 2024 - 7:30 PM

Apologies for the radio silence the past few days. No news has in fact been good news.

Dad got moved to a normal room Monday evening.

Since Monday, he’s been walking quite a lot around his new floor.

Dad is also working with physical therapists to help his left shoulder not become frozen. (The left side of his back is where the surgeons took the muscle to use in the space vacated from the tissue removed from his neck.)

Small improvements every day.

Wednesday dad began feeling a good bit better. He may or have not have shot a few videos with Alan. He also attempted to escape with a group of his friends which came to see him.

Blood pressure and O2 have been fine the past several days. Thankful they stabilized.

Dad has had some gnarly headaches since Tuesday. Please pray for them to diminish and stop.

Dad is healing well from what all the doctors can see. Dad is currently in the middle of the 8-10 day post surgery period. This is when the tissue will decide whether or not it will take to its new location in the body.

Please also pray the tissue is accepted.

If all continues to go well, dad may come home as early as Monday! We’ll keep you a little more updated until then.

I believe I’ve said it before, but it warrants saying again:

We are thankful the Lord has seen fit to give us more time with dad and heal him after this tremendous surgery.

I’ve been personally asked several questions in regards to what all dad specifically had done. We’ll lay it out clearly for you soon.
